Reliably Transfer Large Files Directly to MinIO

Helping You Get the Most out of MinIO
The Challenge
Sending large files directly to MinIO means wrestling with size limits, unreliable transfers, and complex security workarounds just to let external collaborators upload files.
- Size limits: Files over 5GB fail outright with native uploads, and working around it means manually configuring multipart uploads.
- Unreliable transfers: A brief network drop sends your entire upload back to zero, with no built-in way to pick up where they left off.
- Security exposure: Letting external collaborators upload files means either handing out credentials or opening inbound ports, which are security risks.
The MASV Solution
MASV is a secure ingest gateway between collaborators and your MinIO bucket, handling files of any size, recovering automatically from interruptions, and keeping your environment secure.
- MASV gives your collaborators a straightforward upload link that sends files directly into your MinIO bucket with no credential sharing, port configuration, or crossed fingers hoping the transfer completes.
- Your collaborators don't need a MASV account or any knowledge of your infrastructure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. MASV works with any MinIO deployment, whether self-hosted on-premises, running in a private cloud, or deployed through a managed service provider. As long as your MinIO instance is reachable and configured with the appropriate bucket permissions, MASV can connect and begin delivering files straight away.
No. Anyone you share a Portal link with can upload files directly to your MinIO bucket without creating an account or having any knowledge of your underlying infrastructure. Simply generate a Portal link from your MASV dashboard and share it. Your collaborators just drag, drop, and send.
No. MASV handles multi-terabyte files without any manual configuration or scripting, and can work with file packages of unlimited size. You'll never hit MinIO's native 5GB single PUT limit or need to touch the MinIO Client or SDK to work around it.
MASV's checkpoint restart technology automatically resumes the transfer from the exact point it was interrupted. Unlike native MinIO transfers, there's no starting over from scratch, which makes a significant difference when you're moving large files over long distances or unreliable connections.
Your collaborators never interact with your MinIO infrastructure directly. MASV acts as a secure intermediary, streaming files into your designated bucket without exposing your access keys, secret keys, or network configuration to anyone outside your organization. There's no need to open inbound ports, configure a reverse proxy, or distribute credentials, and collaborators don’t even need a MASV account to upload files.
